Student Admission Types

After a future student has been admitted into CSU, the next steps are to commit to attending Chicago State University (contact the Office of Admission) and complete the housing application and then pay the $100 application fee.

The Office of Housing and Residence Life cannot guarantee on-campus housing. For new students, the housing application opens on March 10, 2025, priority deadline for housing is May 31, 2025 and final deadline for housing is June 30, 2025.

Students must be registered, complete $100 application fee and be completely up to date with Health & Wellness requirements by May 31, 2025 for priority housing. All requirments for new students need to be completed by June 30, 2025 for housing to successfully process your application.  

New and transfer students will receive their housing assignments (once all requirements are received and confirmed) during the week of July 7–11.

The Housing Selection Process is different for returning students compared to the process for new students.

The Office of Housing and Residence Life cannot guarantee on-campus housing.

For returning students, the housing application opens on March 10, 2025. Returning students will then particpate in Room Selection process which will be:

  • Seniors and graduate students: April 1
  • Juniors: April 2
  • Sophmores: April 3
  • Open to all: April 4 - April 30

On the students' day of room selection, students can view available rooms and choose one based on their preferences through the housing portal (csu.erezlife.com) (e.g., room type, building, or roommate preferences). Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students must be registered full time, complete $100 application fee and be completely up to date with Health & Wellness requirements. 

A limited number of rooms may become available during the end of the fall semester.

The Summer Housing Process-

Requirments to Live on Campus:

  • Employed with the Housing and Residence Life Team (internal process email housing@nbqifa.com for more information) 
  • Enrolled in Summer Classes or Summer Internship 
  • Authorized Athletic Approval 
  • If you are expereince any housing insecurity - please make a appointment with the Counseling Center for an assesment and potential funding opportunities at counselingcenter@nbqifa.com

Form Type Description
Interim Housing

Available for students who need an extension between breaks and during periods of time where housing is not traditionally offered. Residents may request a late departure after finals, an early arrival before the start of a semester, or housing provided between the end of one term and the start of another. There is a nominal daily fee of $50 which does not include food.

*THIS IS NOT FOR LONG TERM STAY. 

Interim Housing is provided on a case-by-case basis. You apply for interim housing via the housing portal (csu.erezlife.com). 

Physical Exam History

All students need to be medically compliant to live in Housing. All Medical Records need to be submitted and cleared with the Wellness Center.  If any of the below is missing, for returning you will be in violation of the Housing Agreement which could jeopordize your housing and for new incoming students this will prohibit you from obtaining housing. Medical Record form >>

    • Diphtheria and Tetanus (TD), must have been within the last 10 years.
    • Tuberculin (TB), skin test with results within the last year.
    • Complete Physical, completed within the last year.
    • 2 doses of Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), or a test verifying immunity. 

Submit all medical records to the Wellness and Center either via email at wellness@nbqifa.com, and/or fax at 773-995-2953 (please confirm receipt of records if faxing/emailing). 

Contact the Chicago State University Wellness and Health Center by phone at 773-995-2010 for questions, assistance in obtaining immunizations, or laboratory (serologic) testing. The Wellness Center is able to conduct the medical requirements at the Wellness Center on campus for FREE for students. 

Be sure to make two copies of records. Send one copy to the Wellness/Health Center and maintain one copy for your record. Please do not send any medical records to housing.
